Fatigue and rest:
Fatigue is a very common effect that is noticed in most individuals who undergo the therapy. Hence sleep is very much necessary and sleep during the night needs to be longer so that the body is refreshed to carry out daily activities.,/
As a result of the high amount of radiation involved in the therapy, skin damage and hair loss is a major side effect. The individual needs to take special care to have a nutritious diet so that the body is able to rejuvenate from the therapy. A good diet also helps to maintain energy levels. The patients are advised to take small meals at regular intervals than huge meals.
The stomach does take a toll as a result of the therapy and vomiting, nausea and diarrhea are side effects. A balanced diet ensures that nutrients stay in the body and the doctor might also prescribe the patient for anti-nausea medicine.
The best way to dress after the therapy is to dress soft and dress loose. The treated area is very sensitive and needs to be covered from exposure to direct sunlight. Hair loss is also a major concern and hence the head needs to be protected from exposure to the sun as well. The head can be protected by wearing scarves or soft hats.
